“See you in March for our 40th year!”
These are words that we have adored hearing from long-time guests like Jim Cloran.
Each week at Mountain Laurel Chalets, we’re celebrating our 50th Anniversary by giving away a free gift to someone on our Facebook page. Guests and friends can simply login at 8:00 p.m. on either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday to enjoy our Facebook Live feature. To be eligible to win, viewers can like our post, comment a fun story, and share our post with others. A random winner is chosen each Friday.
This past week, Jim Cloran, of Cincinnati, won a $50 per night discount to apply on his next stay with us. Mr. Cloran and his family have been coming to the Smoky Mountains and using Mountain Laurel Chalets for the better part of 40 years. Wow!
We asked Mr. Cloran to share a bit more of his story with us after learning about his history vacationing in Gatlinburg.
“In the early years I always spoke to Edna, who was so nice. It was always great to talk with her, not only about our reservations but also about current events in and around Gatlinburg, the weather, and many other things. She always made us feel welcome.”
Mr. Cloran stated that the “chalets that Mountain Laurel offers are always the best.” He even shared a few photos of past brochures that he and his family have used to book homes, circling their favorite options like Dogwood Place and Schonblick among others.
“Recently, my daughter has taken over booking our annual trip to Gatlinburg. She always has good things to say about her experience with MLC, and we have liked every one of the chalets she [has] rented.”
Mr. Cloran and his family enjoy morning hikes in the Smokies, another task recently carried out by his daughter. “She always picks great trails, and upon our return we enjoy the scenery from our deck, and relax and recharge in the hot tub.”
Sometimes, the Clorans will drive to the top of Ski Mountain and ride the tram into town to walk the Gatlinburg strip. They enjoy No Way Jose's if they are in the mood for Mexican food, or a good steak dinner at Howard’s.
