All of those things are wonderful but you can’t live on love alone! The serenity of mountains can take care of feeding your soul but what about your stomach?
You and your beloved need options for a romantic meal to keep the ambiance going. Gatlinburg has some wonderful restaurants and most of time you won’t even need a reservation, although many have call ahead seating times.
There are options for all different types of cuisine and settings, from Fancy to casual, Gatlinburg has it all.
For those who prefer a more formal option with classic fine dining you might want to consider the following:
The Peddler – This classic steak house with a fabulous 50 + item buffet has been a Gatlinburg tradition for generations. Located on River Road with fantastic views of the Little Pigeon River that runs through town. Serving dinner only, they open at 4 and do offer call- ahead seating.
The Greenbrier– Tucked away in the woods, this beautiful old log cabin provides a wonderful, intimate setting for a romantic meal. It’s quiet enough to have a great conversation, but no so hushed that you feel as if your conversation will be overheard by other diners. The offering range from steak, seafood, chicken and more. Everything is beautifully prepared and presented. Save room for dessert, they make wonderful ones to share with your beloved.
Buckhorn Inn – a gorgeous setting in the Arts & Crafts community. This restaurants offers one evening sitting at 7 PM with all guests eating the same chef prepared meal. The menu consists of homemade soup, salad, fresh baked bread, gourmet entrée and dessert with coffee. Vegetarian options available with advance notice. Some of the entrees include, Panko encrusted Mahi-Mahi or Cornmeal Crusted Smoky Mountain Trout with fresh herb Aioli. Dessert options are just as lavish – such as Tiramisu Toffee Crunch Pie, Toffee Crunch Cheesecake or White Chocolate Macadamia Pie.
Casual Options include:
3 Jimmy’s – this locally owned restaurant at the entrance to the Arts & Crafts community offers a wide variety of choices. Steaks, seafood, chicken, ribs and more! Plenty of parking and even outdoor dining. They also have live entertainment.
Crystelle Creek – Situated Creekside, this restaurant also offers live entertainment, with a wide variety of menu options.
Best Italian – Italians’ speak the language of love and so does their food! This locally owned restaurant has great food and is located in Elk’s plaza around light # 9 here in Gatlinburg.
One final option would be to have your own personal chef come to your chalet and cook/entertain you. We have had great feedback from prior guests that have used Fruitful Vintage Personal Chef Service. Chef Ray Bordelon prepares wonderful meals and is a delight to work with.
