I have been using Mt. Laurel rentals for many years. Pam, Kelly, Scott and the rest of the crew do an amazing job to make sure that your stay is what you expected. I highly recommend Mt. Laurel Rentals as you are treated like family. They take care of any problems right away.

Gatlinburg is one of our most favorite places to visit and Mt Laurel Chalets is our go to rental company. We have stayed with them so many times, but this was our first stay at this chalet/cabin. Everything was as expected ! Nice that it was a 1 story and simple to get there. Very nice cabin, zero complaints ! Disappointed that we didn't see any bear activity around the cabin, although most reviews say they come around often. This was the 1st time ever that we didn't have any bears visit our rental cabin. Most of the neighboring cabins were empty and Gatlinburg wasn't too crowded, which is good sometimes. We always hate leaving and will be back in a month or two and will most likely stay at this chalet/cabin again. Thank You MLC for another great stay !!!

This cabin was wonderful. Decor was cute, everything was perfect for our Anniversary stay. Large deck to overlook the mountains. Hot tub worked great. We had a bear visitor daily and our last day while loading luggage in my brand new Tahoe thr bear opened the door and was sitting in the drivers seat. No damage was done. I would def stay again!!!

Gatlinburg is my happy place and Mountain Laurel Chalets helps to make it just that! Love the upgrades that have been made to Highland Fling and love that it is all one level. We had a great time staying at Highland Fling. Stayed here years ago - the updates made are very nice. The location is great and it's nice to not have to climb stairs to get into the house. Saw LOTS of bears - had to really keep an eye out for them when coming and going. Mountain Laurel is awesome -- they even had a cake for us to help us celebrate my birthday and my husband's retirement. Such a thoughtful touch. We have stayed with Mountain Laurel for 20+ years and can't imagine staying with anyone else. Gatlinburg is my Happy Place -- we'll see you again in October!

This chalet was in the perfect location just at the end of the Gatlinburg strip. The place was clean and well maintained and the views were beautiful! We really enjoyed having access to the different pools, as it was really hot during our stay. We will definitely be back and will use this company again!

Very comfortable and fully stocked home. We saw bears in our driveway daily! Fantastic deck with a view. Comfortable beds. Would love more towel hooks in bathrooms and kid friendly tub. Overall we will definitely come back. Staff is kind and responsive.

Great location.Easy access to Ski Mountain Rd. Definitely recommend this cabin. I would stay here again. Mt.Laurel rentals are the best. I highly recommend them. The office employees are very knowledgeable and helpful.

It was a great stay at Highland Fling. Beautiful views very private even though there are other cabins around. Sat outside alot enjoying the view. Beware of grilling, bear hopped up onto the hot tub and walked around deck for a while so we were on high alert everytime we were outside. Saw another cub on the street below us. Drive up to cabin wasn't that bad. Driveway was pretty steep but the car suprisingly did just fine. Cabin was very homey and absolutely loved the bed, wanted to take it home!!Meant to see what kind it was so I could get one but forgot to look. Spent alot of time just sitting outside (always listening for other bears) just enjoying being there!

We enjoyed staying at Highland Fling. This was our first time staying there. It is a very quiet and cozy cabin. We enjoyed watching the Ober tram going by each day. We seen 5 bears while we were there. One of the bears seemed to always visit in the late evenings. We also seen a large bear that opened a car door and stole some chips to eat. We even seen a momma bear and her two cubs. Our kids really enjoyed seeing the bears at a distance of course. I know worms are a problem in the mountains, and our cabin had them. So watch out for those too. It might help if the cabin was sprayed to help kill them. I would recommend that the tub in the master bedroom be replaced with a shower. I think it would be used more than having 2 tubs in the cabin. Overall, a great experience and hope to come back.

We enjoyed staying at Highland Fling. We go to the mountains every year on a family vacation. This was our first time staying at Highland Fling. We seen 5 bears. One bear seemed to always visit in the late evenings. The cabin was very quiet and cozy. We enjoyed the king size beds and the shower was nice. I would recommend replacing the master bedroom tub, with a shower. I think it would be used more. We did have a problem with worms. They are normally seen everywhere in the mountains, but having to clean them up everyday is annoying. Overall great experience. We hope to come back sometime.

My wife and I have stayed at highland fling once before several years ago. Nice clean cabin, the bed is one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on! View is pretty good this time of year not so many leaves on the trees yet. We missed the tram swooping by this time ( shut down for upgrade and repair ). We have stayed with the fine folks at Mnt Laural many , many times over the last 20+ years and they were as great as ever.... I hate we didn’t get to come in and converse like we usually get to BUT Covid changed a lot of things! This is a comfortable and clean cabin and we will book again soon. Thanks, Phil.

Always great to have you stay with us Phil and we agree about covid. We miss our guests and welcoming you properly to the mountain. Hopefully, the end is in sight and we can open the office to the public again soon. 50 years rolled around quick for the tram at Ober Gatlinburg. That's how often the cables have to be changed out and it is taking 2 months! It will be back open, hopefully, for Memorial Day. Give us a call the next time you need to get away for some R & R.

Overall this was a great cabin with gorgeous views. We saw 2 bears while we were there. I enjoyed having a 1 level cabin to stay in since I am disabled with a few mobility issues. The main issue I had was the pee stains on the mattresses that we saw when we took off the bed sheets. I feel like for as much as we paid they could either have them cleaned or replace them.

This is a beautiful house. The view would be phenomenal but we were fogged in all weekend. The house has been recently remodeled. It’s extremely clean and very comfortable king beds. Very large back deck for good weather. The bathroom set up is very strange. There is only one shower in the hall bath so it would be awkward for 2 couples. It was fine for my wife and me.
The fog was very dangerous to drive in at night and I’m sure any snow would be as well.

Wonderful stay from start to finish. The rental agency was great and the cabin was perfect! The only thing we suggest is take the ski mountain road there and back instead of the route they tell you. (Much wider road) Downtown Gatlinburg is around 5ish min so it was very convenient. We will definitely be back for sure! The view makes it a perfect choice!

I'm a little confused about your comment our directions because we would most definitely send you up Ski Mountai Road. However, if you were following GPS, it is not the shortest route, so you would be on a small, steeper road if you followed your GPS. Watching the cable car guide by the chalet on its way up the mountain is fun, especially at night when it is all lit up. We hope you can return to stay in Highland Fling again.

It’s definitely a drive in to go old Gatlinburg or PF. But worth it. You’re close to the lift so you can take that in and not worry about parking. It was nice coming home at the end of the day and relaxing with a view away from the hustle and bustle.

It's a great place to watch the clouds over the mountains and the cable car as it glides by on it's way up the mountain to the ski lodge. The Highland Fling is a beautiful, cozy Chalet. Plenty of room for 2 couples. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a bear. He/she walked across the driveway in front of us and waited for us to pull in. We had to honk the horn a few times before it walked away. If I had to change something, it would be the the sleeper sofa, its very uncomfortable to sit on. We've been staying with Mountain Laurel Chalets for over 20+years and they have always been very accommodating. Thank You Mountain Laurel for another Great stay.

We have been using Mountain Laurel Chalets for years and they are awesome. They never disappoint and the folks working there are so friendly. We had a couple of issues that were addressed, hot tub and AC batteries. One issue I let them know about was one of the deck loungers had a wasp nest under the leg and I was stung twice in a matter of minutes. So we took the chair and put it outside the desk so our 2 year did not get stung. Saw bears everyday so be careful with cooking outside and keeping car doors locked. Great stay. Cant wait to return.

Great rental! Perfect location! The views were wonderful. We had the pleasure of seeing 5 bears playing right outside the dining room window! My only con was the poor lighting over the stove. It was slightly difficult to cook at night. The cooking tools are slightly dated but we had everything we needed to cook breakfast daily and a chili one night. Highly recommend this place! The entrance to Ober is about 2 minutes away. The Ober tram runs right past the Chalet's deck. My young boys enjoyed watching and waving to the tram as it passed. The drive to and from wasn't too terrible. It is a mountain road, but the roads are all well maintained. Took us about 30 minutes to get to Dollywood and Walmart. The drive to downtown and Sugarland visitor center took no time! My kids are 3 and 5. Our favorite activities were hiking to Laurel Falls and exploring a creek on the way to Cades Cove. The chalet was clean, the beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room for our family of four. We felt that we could have comfortably fit another couple of people. The gas fireplace turns on with a touch of a button! Wifi worked great. The office to check in and out is very close to the cabin (very convenient when I locked us out and needed another key). We loved renting from Mountain Laurel Chalets and we will hopefully be back soon!

It was slightly difficult to cook at night. The cooking tools are slightly dated but we had everything we needed to cook breakfast daily and a chili one night. Highly recommend this place! The entrance to Ober is about 2 minutes away. The Ober tram runs right past the Chalet's deck. My young boys enjoyed watching and waving to the tram as it passed. The drive to and from wasn't too terrible. It is a mountain road, but the roads are all well maintained. Took us about 30 minutes to get to Dollywood and Walmart. The drive to downtown and Sugarland visitor center took no time! My kids are 3 and 5. Our favorite activities were hiking to Laurel Falls and exploring a creek on the way to Cades Cove. The chalet was clean, the beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room for our family of four. We felt that we could have comfortably fit another couple of people. The gas fireplace turns on with a touch of a button! Wifi worked great. The office to check in and out is very close to the cabin (very convenient when I locked us out and needed another key). We loved renting from Mountain Laurel Chalets and we will hopefully be back soon!

We have stayed at Highland Fling 3 or 4 times. we love the large deck that overlooks the mountains and the Tram that goes up and down. However, the weather did not cooperate this year. Cold, foggy and misty. All other years have been great. We meet another couple there each year and have a wonderful time visiting with them. Has two bedrooms with King size beds and that works well for us. Look forward to next year and hoping weather will be better.

We will put your request in for better weather. There is a saying in these mountains, if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute because it changes rapidly. That happens more often in spring, but we are lucky to have Mt LeConte to shelter us from the worst weather. The big deck was a fantastic upgrade a few years ago and our guests love it! Sounds like a fantastic annual trip you have going and our fingers are crossed forgetter weather next year.

The only thing that we would recommend is that the cleaning staff do a little more of the dusting of the tables and Especially the TV screens.

We love Gatlinburg and The Highland Fling Chalet. We were just at this chalet a month ago and couldn't get enough. The chalet is well kept and has a large deck with beautiful views of the mountains. We saw bear everyday we were there except one. The first bear looked pretty young and walked right under our deck. We waited to see if mother bear was close behind, but never saw her. It was kind of sad knowing that she may have been put to sleep. Please, anyone who visit' s Gatlinburg, DO NOT FEED THE BEAR! Just enjoy the scenery. Thank You Mountain Laurel!

We were very happy with our stay at highland fling! Beautiful views. The one thing that I would like more of with this cabin is more lighting around the hot tub and deck area. We did see multiple bears while we were there and having no lighting at night made it pretty scary/intimidating to go out back. Otherwise a great place to stay!

I've used Mtn Laurel Chalets since we went to Gatlinburg on our honeymoon in 1993. Some of our favorites burned in the wildfires, so this was the first time to stay at Highland Fling. Lovely cabin, well-furnished, plenty of space for our family of 4, nice view with some tree obstruction but not too bad. Winter views from the chalet would be outstanding. The tram goes right by the chalet and it's very close to Ober. Also, the chalet seems to be in the path of a momma bear and her cubs' daily foraging path, because we saw the bears twice while we were there.
Staff at Mtn Laurel are friendly and prompt to respond to you. For years this chalet company has been and will continue to be our go-to for renting in Gatlinburg.

The home was prefect for a few days break. Great location for the Smoky National Park. We found everything we needed and were lucky with the weather so took advantage of the hot tub after the hiking. Kitchen was well equipped beds were comfortable and the family room was inviting. Everything was clean and fresh. Driving up the hills is always a challenge, certainly claimed one transmission in the past.

Highland Fling is about 2 miles up Ski Mountain, but it feels a lot longer when you aren't used to driving in the mountains. The roads to this particular chalet are all nice, two lane, paved and there is one level parking spot at the cabin. We suggest driving back down the mountain in Low gear when you get near the bottom. From the office staff to the cleaning staff we were extremely satisfied! Our cabin was in beautiful / very clean condition. We had plenty of towels, paper products, and dish detergents. The location of our cabin was perfect. We had a view of the Tram, Mt. Laconte, and the valley holding Gatlinburg's city lights! We were very close to the ski lodge and about a 7 min drive to downtown Gatlinburg. The office was right on our way to our cabin. We had one hairpin curve to get to our driveway that could have been tricky if the weather was icy. The beds and furnishings were very comfortable. Loved the very large deck. We plan on visiting this cabin again! Thank the owners for having such a great place that they are sharing!!

This is a good place for families to stay. The odd arrange of only 1 shower could be strange for friends to stay there but it was a good place for my wife and I.

The carpeting needs to be replaced but otherwise the cabin was clean and in good shape.

The cabin is at the top of the mountain but it was very easy to get to with minimal winding roads.

We have been a loyal customer for many, many years. We have always bee treated like family at the office. We will be back in August for our 44th wedding anniversary. Our grand boys, both age 9, loved the Highland Fling. We got to see 2 bears while we there, one strolling up the street right in front of the chalet, and the other crossing South Baden near the Owner's Club. We liked waving at people in the tram and the hot tub was very relaxing! Will be back really soon!!

This was our second stay at the Highland Fling and we loved it. We stayed for 3 days and saw bear everyday on the street behind our Chalet. We will definitely stay here again. I wish they would put a lock on the main bathroom door, as this is the only room to shower and I was concerned my 11 year old would walk in on me. Other than that, it is a wonderful place to stay.

My wife and I have stayed at various Mountain Laurel Chalets properties for decades. We've never been disappointed. Highland Fling has a nice view of the mountains plus a great view of the tram as it goes by. It is all one level with just a small step at the front door, so it's good for someone with limited mobility. Despite being well up the mountainside near Ober Gatlinburg, the access is fairly easy since most of the way you are on Ski Mountain Road.

We have vacationed in these mountains for over 33yrs. Most of that time staying in rental properties managed by several different companies. We were very impressed with Mountain Laurel Rentals. They far exceeded our expectations in every category. This property is beautiful, very clean, exactly as described with everything on 1 level. Reservation process was simple, web site very easy to navigate, the location is perfect, directions accurate, check-in was quick and easy. Upon arrival, we identified a couple of minor maintenance issues which were quickly addressed by their very courteous maintenance staff. Also, within minutes of arriving, we were greeted by an adorable yearling bear checking out the hot tub & looking in the dining room window! This cabin is in an area of increased bear activity. Please follow directions for removing all food & locking your vehicle! The bears did check out the inside of our truck, looking in the windows and trying to open the latch, but we made sure nothing was left inside to entice them. So, no worries. They left paw prints, but fortunately, no scratches! We would definitely recommend and look forward to using Mountain Laurel rentals again. Thank you for providing this beautiful property on your rental program!

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for; a cabin with mountain views and private outdoor space. The management company was very friendly and professional, and everything was clean and ready for us. The location is great, as the cabin is only 5-10 minutes from the main strip of Gatlinburg, and 5 minutes from a very convenient store/ market that even offers delivery.

The kitchen utensils/amenities were solid, but if you intend on cooking a meal that involves cutting vegetables/meat, I'd suggest bringing your own knife, and maybe a cutting board.

In the spring/summer, I'd also recommend bringing a citronella candle/bug repellent for the patio if you plan on hanging outside at night. It's the mountains, afterall.

The chalet was clean and welcoming upon arrival. The updating in the kitchen and the bathrooms was very nicely done. It has an open layout that creates a warm home-like atmosphere. The mountain laurel beside the deck and house was in bloom while we were there and it was very beautiful and added greatly to the scenery from the hot tub.

This chalet was awesome. We enjoyed the hot tub and the Jacuzzis inside. We had the perfect view, from the back deck we could see the aerial tram ride by. Also, the beds were very comfortable. Lovely chalet on top of a mountain with lots of amenities and has an overall cozy feel. Perfect for my family of 4. My girls loved their stay too which made my stay even more pleasurable. We love the Smokies! Highland Flung was a great little chalet. It's one story so everyone is always around. The electric fireplace is awesome! We used it every day, even if we really didn't need it. It was a little close to other Chalets but still so peaceful and serene.

The house is just as describe on the website and in the reviews. ( we based our choice on the reviews ourselves ) it's clean , modern and cozy. We enjoyed the view of the mountains at the end of February, so there were no leaves on the trees to block the mountains. The sunsets and rises were so colorful. I imagine the view would be more of the green leaves from the trees in the warmer months. The drive up the mountain is a little different for city folks but manageable and worth it once you step inside the house. The deck , hot tub and indoor jacuzzi are all perfect.

We had such a wonderful time in Gatlinburg, thanks in large part to the amazing chalet! It was high up on the mountain, creating more privacy and better views, but was still a short drive to the main strip. We utilized the hot tub every night. We were very pleased with the updated bathrooms and switch-on fireplace. Not to mention the large beds were very comfortable. Couldn't have asked for a better chalet!

Our family really enjoyed our stay here. Perfect fit for our family of three. Loved the rustic look but it still had all the amenities of home. Large bedrooms with TVs. Hot tub on a large deck with great view. The chalet is just a walk away from Ober Gatlinburg. The tram went by so close you could here the folks laughing. Definitely going to stay here again.

It was a beautiful chalet. The view awesome and the hot tub wonderful. We could see the tram go by and the bears were crazy. Getting ready to hibernate so they were very active. Saw one every day. Even chased them away from our deck as it was on the ground. Momma and her cubs. A total of 7 at a time.Love it and will definiley stay here again.

Great view,great deck, 6 pieces of each eating utensil. however cabinets filled with a lot of unnecessary stuff like 6 frying pans. 6 forks 6 spoons etc and 6 frying pans??? Air conditioning not working. was fixed within 24 hours. glad it was not summer!! windows, light fixtures and return air vents filthy.All in all,a nice place that needs a good cleaning. Kitchen, bathrooms clean. Hot tub very nice and clean.

this cabin was perfect! Open and airy and everything accessible for my 90 year old Mother on a walker! The deck was huge and had the neatest contraption for removing hot tub cover. The highlight of the trip was Momma saying" I just had a couple of dogs run by my window! Correction a Mama bear and 4 Cubs!"" We have never felt in any danger because we follow instructions on how to handle ourselves at the cabins. Once again a great stay !"

We decided to take a trip three weeks before we left for Gatlinburg. We found a wonderful Chalet and it was awesome. So relaxing. Our goal was just to relax. We didn't leave our cabin. We brought plenty of food so we could just stay in and enjoy all the wonderful scenery and amenities the cabin had to offer like the hot tub and the two jacuzzi bath tubs. The cabin had everything we needed. Not to far up the hill and close to an excellent little eatery we stopped to eat before settling in and a little grocery store to pick up sugar and coffee we left at home. Beautiful cabin. It was our child's first time and he is already asking us to plan another trip in the same cabin.

My husband and I stayed at Highland Fling for our first anniversary. We loved it! We wanted to escape to the mountains and this was the perfect place to do so. Some of our favorite things were sitting on the deck for breakfast and lunch and hiking in nearby Sugarlands National Park. We hope to come back to Gatlinburg soon, and when we do, Highland Fling is where we'll want to stay!

PS - Great parking, too. Definitely a plus (and not a given with other cabins).

We have been staying with Mnt Laurel for years most always a wonderful experience. This cabin was what it said it was. Very comfortable beds as well as huge.. Deck was perfect, Tram view was nice.. ( something the owner did not boast was the lights of Gatlinburg ) Its not a perfect view the house across the street blocks most of the strip but you can still enjoy the lights in detail! looks like the owners are working on updating the cabin. bathrooms were brand new.. nice big shower. Hardwood floors would do wonders. very comfortable chalet we have stayed in quiet a few and will stay in this one again....Phil and Renee

Renting from mountain laurel chalets was the easiest thing ever!!! Everyone at mountain laurel were wonderful!!! The highland fling was very nice, we enjoyed it so much and it felt just like home!! We ended up staying a extra night because it was so nice.... Can't say enough about how nice it was!! You can tell the owners take great pride in their place....We will be back and will stay in the highland fling again

First let me start by saying that I have been going to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg for 22 years and stayed many times with Mountain Laurel Chalets. That being said, this cabin is easily in the top 5 of all that we have stayed in. It was clean, modern and felt very relaxing. Liked the option of the outdoor hot tub and indoor garden tub. Nice large deck, comfortable living room/Kitchen, nice TV's, gas log fireplace,and nice bedrooms. Put on our list for future stays.

We stayed at the Highland Fling the first weekend in December. The Highland Fling is an amazing place to escape to. The chalet is clean and well maintained. There is a jacuzzi tub adjacent to the living room that was quite relaxing in the evening. The chalet is well stocked with towels, blankets, dishes, pots and pans and glasses for all occasions. The beds are quite comfortable and were well furnished to meet all our needs. There is a closet full of board games if you choose to play. There is a small sterio that will help set whatever mood you choose. The deck has 2 entrances from the livingroom and is quite large. There is a nice hottub on the deck. The wiew of the Smoky Mountians to the southeast was quite spectacular....especially when mother nature coorporated with the Sun and just perfect areas of low lying clouds. Absoulutely beautiful!! The cable tramway to Ober Gatlinburg passes overhead. Was nice to watch them coming and going and the folks waving to you while we relaxed on the deck. We waved back of course!! This is a place that will have great memories and a physical connection for my wife and I. The Smokys were a great backdrop for us while we were married outside on the deck in a small ceremony, just the 3 of us, on Sunday afternoon. This place will make memories for you. We will be returning!!

Very nice stay and location. Would be great for a small family or two couples. Loved the hot tub. I used it most in the early mornings just to enjoy the sunrise and the morning birds! The chalet has many very nice features inside and out. My only suggestion to the property owner would be to put in ceiling fans in the bedrooms.

Since our last visit, the wood fireplace has been upgraded to propane. And both bathrooms have been completely upgraded & modernized!!! A stack washer & Dryer has been added. Each year, the owners have made improvements that have made highland Fling a great place to stay!!!

Love the cabin. Everything was great and I addressed the following concerns with the staff in the main office.
*Large wolf spider in the master spa…bugs in the bed and sofa
*Need to replace the stripped jets in the spa
*Need a full length mirror somewhere in the house…can be purchased for $5.00 at Walmart.
*Need smaller plastic cups for families with children.
*Loose tile in shower needs to be caulked before damage is done to the beautiful new shower
*Towel holders on the back of the bathroom doors need to be correctly installed.
