Another reason is the process to obtain a license is quick and inexpensive. There are 3 locations to obtain a valid Tennessee Wedding License:
Gatlinburg Clerk’s Office – located at the Schilling Center @ 405 Reagan Drive, Gatlinburg, TN 37738

Pigeon Forge Satellite office located at 300 Pine Mountain Road, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863 (located behind City Hall). Saturday ONLY from 9-5 865-908-6613
Sevier County Court House located at 125 Court Ave, Suite 202E, Sevierville, TN 37862
Monday – Thursday from 8 – 4:30 and Friday from 8 – 5 865-453-5502
In order to obtain a license, both parties must be 18 or older, have valid ID, Social Security Card and both parties need to be present to obtain the license. Divorced persons must provide the date the divorce was finalized. If widowed, they must provide the date spouse was deceased. Minors must obtain parental or court approval.
There is no blood test required and there is no waiting period and the ceremony may be performed the same day. License is valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
Fees for Out of State residents are:
Cash price $41.00, with a small service fee added if using a credit/debit card
Fees for Tennessee residents are:
Cash price $101, with a small service fee added if using a credit/debit card. If residents present a notarized certificate that they have completed a 4 hour premarital education class, the rate would be the same as an out of state applicant.
