Five of us stayed here for a girls trip and two of those being teenagers. The best part of the chalet was the front porch and the hot tub being enclosed. Would definitely stay here again.

I have so many different stories for different cabins it is hard to choose just one. I guess I would have to say Appalachian Dream Lodge as it was the last lodge we stayed in with our dear friend who had been coming on our girls weekends for years. We did not know at the time this would be her last so those memories that we made in that cabin and on that trip will last a lifetime for us.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Appalachian Dream Lodge. It was a great sleeping set up for our family of 5. The hot tub and darts game were a hit with my kids. We looked every day for bears and finally saw one as we were leaving to go home. We would definitely book again!

We got in late the first night things were so clean and nice. The next evening and every evening after that we saw bears! We even had one climb up onto the front porch where we could see it up close and personal, from the door and windows. We enjoyed our stay and hope to rent the same cabin for the next visit to Gatlinburg! My son forgot his boots and the rental company we super nice and helpful in getting us back into the cabin to get them. If you get the chance, book this cabin! You can thank me later!

This was the perfect spot for us - a three generational family (ages 2-62). What a great location away from the hustle and bustle at the bottom of the mountains. We definitely felt like we were on a mountain vacation! We had bear visitors every single day which was so cool. It was quiet and comfortable. The first responder discount is what sealed the deal for us. Thank you for appreciating people who often go unappreciated. We will definitely try to book again when we visit next time.

Our annual trip did not disappoint! We always book with mtn laurel chalet and will continue! The drive to Gatlinburg was very quick and an easy drive. The hot tub got hot which was great! The dart board was a huge success and very fun for the kids. We did miss not having a view but we knew it was a wooded view prior to booking. My only complaint was the rodent issue, which I am hoping an exterminator took care of.

This was our 5th visit to Gatlinburg, 4th time renting from Mt Laurel Chalets and we were not disappointed! We really enjoyed this cabin! We had a total of 6 people and never felt cramped. We saw quite a few bears which the kids loved! As usual, check in/out was easy and the staff was friendly. We are already planning our next trip back!

Appalachian Dream Lodge was a very nice four bedroom log cabin that was very deceiving on the interior size. We truly enjoyed the cabin and the bears we saw daily coming out of the woods. This cabin was perfect for a family w/2 adult children. Just enough space for all 5 of us to have our own space, yet cozy enough for family activities. We saw a black bear walking in the front yard, and another one up the street. There were chipmunks all over the place running around playing. We Will be staying w/this group/cabin in the future.

The cabin was great. It was the perfect size for our family. The only issues we really had was that the dryer would not heat up. There was no batteries in the dart board but that wasnt a huge deal. And I personally think they need a new hot tub. But other then that the cabin was great and we had a wonderful time.

My friends and I had an awesome stay at this cabin. It is very up to date while maintaining its rustic “cabin in the woods” feel. The property is far enough away from others that you feel secluded. Beds and furniture is all nice.

This was a much needed family getaway with our grow children, spouses and grandchild. This was also the first visit to the GSMNP for the kids. This was our, my husband and I, 5th time visiting the Smokey’s and wanted to share our mountain experience with the kids. The Mountain Laurel Chalets staff made our stay very enjoyable and they were very, very helpful especially during these uncertain times. Check in was easy and the staff had everything ready at their offices. Check out was just as easy. We will definitely use Mountain Laurel Chalets in the future. *the reason I put a 3 star for the property condition is because there was mouse droppings in the kitchen cupboards and drawers and we had to wash the kitchen utensils, pot and pans before we could use them. I know this property is in the mountains and surrounded by trees and critters can not be helped to get in, but it really needs to be addressed. The second reason for 3 stars is because the refrigerator was unbalanced and this caused water to collect under the vegetable pull out bins. So, every time we pulled out the bin to get vegetables out water would spill out. We had to put a towel under the refrigerator to soak up the water. The third reason for 3 stars is the dart board doesn’t work. And the fourth reason is the hot tub jets need to be fixed because the jets do not put out much power. The fifth reason for 3 stars is because the downstairs bathroom door jams need to be fixed because the bathroom door leading into the bedroom wouldn’t close at all.
The mattresses on the bunk bed, top and bottom, were lumpy which made for a very uncomfortable & unrestful nights sleep.
Very thankful there was a washer and dryer and WIFI.

My husband and I had a wonderful week in the mountains. We arrived a day after my birthday. This is the second time we chose Appalachian Dream Lodge for our vacation. We love the location because we get to see so many bears. This time did not disappoint us, we saw more bears than we have ever seen. I trust Mountain Laurel Chalets to have the cleanest and nicest cabins you could ever want and have stayed with them for over 20 years exclusively. I would recommend any cabin they are renting, each one we have stayed in was spotless.

Our family really enjoyed staying at this beautifully decorated cabin. There were several different options for sleeping including a set of bunkbeds. We saw bears in the area almost daily. There was a porch with a hot tub which was enjoyed by all.

The bears almost certainly have a trail from the top of the mountain down to the valley, right through your yard. Just remember to lock your car doors! We regret that the accidental damage insurance was not explained in detail on the VRBO site, but you also had the choice of a $300 damage hold on your credit card which was offered to you when the office called to confirm your choice. Appalachian Dream Lodge is a beautiful log cabin and it's hard to capture it's charm in pictures. My husband and I took our 2 sons, ages 21 and 18, up with some of their friends for a couple days so they could ski, we could enjoy the alone time in the cabin, and take a stroll or two through Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Just our luck, it rained our entire time we were there so the boys didn’t get to go skiing, but that didn’t damper any of our time. We all enjoyed the covered porch, the kids LOVED the hot tub area (that’s a great little private area, yet still has some views), we enjoyed the dry bar after our trip to The Island for some wine and shine ��, but most of all, we enjoyed the cleanliness, quietness, and amazing comfort of the house. We can’t wait to visit Appalachian Dream again soon!

Our stay was wonderful. The cabin was clean and well equipped. The owner/manager was very responsive to our few questions before our booking and during our stay. The location is very quiet and less than 5 minutes to Ober Gatlinburg - which we visited. Definitely would recommend staying here.

Wow! That might be a record. Appalachian Dream Lodge is definitely on the bear route. We always make sure and tell people staying at ADL to ROLL up the windows and LOCK the doors! You know why.....

The home was large and spacious for the 7 adults and 1 child that stayed for about a week. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and being entertained by the mama bears and babies (1 mama and 2 little ones, another mama with 3, and a third mama with 4 babies!)

The house was in need of some updates. The steps into the house are a little awkward—especially the very bottom step. This could be an issue for elderly or people with hip or back problems.

Most items worked, but the knob on the washing machine was nearly impossible to turn to the proper setting (and the knob is no longer marked since it has apparently been scratched and warped through the many years). The light in the bathroom shower sometimes turned on and sometimes didn’t. People staying, may want to bring a shower/tub mat to keep from slipping in the downstairs tub (it gets quite slick when there is any soap or shampoo on it’s surface). The lock on the bathroom door from the downstairs bedroom didn’t really lock.

While overall the house was useable and comfortable, it just seemed to be getting rather outdated and in need of some freshness such as new mattresses, new bedding, appliances, attention to locks, plumbing (under kitchen sink), loose deck boards, tightening screws on handles, repairing the laundry room door (keep it on track), etc.

The amenities such as the hot tub and pool access were nice for our family. Also the location was great. Far enough to enjoy some quiet, yet close enough to Gatlinburg so that a quick drive would get us downtown.

I would only recommend this property to relatives or a friend with the knowledge that the place needs some attention.

The home is in a great location. Ample room for family or friends with four bedrooms. Hot tub was nice. Appliances work fairly well. Beds are comfortable and master bedroom is huge. There is parking for three cars easy, four is doable. Our only complaint is that HBO was advertised but not available. We were planning on watching an HBO end of Series show the last night of our vacation. Other than that we had a fantastic time and even saw a bear on the property.

Thanks for the comments and you are absolutely correct - the owner switched cable providers and now offers free Showtime instead of HBO. The website has been updated and I hope you've seen the last GOT (although I was thoroughly disappointed at how it ended, but that's just me). The bears are EVERYWHERE this have had a bumper crop of bear cubs and there is a momma with four cubs who is often seen roaming around in that area.

The only complaint that I have is that there was a very limited supply of trash bags and dish-washing detergent. This would not have been a big deal if the office was not 10-15 minutes away. I don't understand why this was a problem, but I guess that most people don't stay for a week or always eat out while visiting.

I always enjoy staying in Gatlinburg T.N. and staying with Mountain Laurel Chalets is just the cherry on top. This cabin was a place that made me feel like we were away from all the crazy things in life and it made us feel like it was just us and that is always a great feeling because life gets crazy and when we were here we just wanted to be a family and focus on what really matters in life, each other and our loved ones. We will always stay with mountain laurel and we will stay here in this cute home again. If we had the means to stay more then we would, but this is a place that you should stay because you have to stay here to understand. Words can not explain what this place has to offer!

We all really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We loved seeing the Bear in the driveway right after we arrived. Cabin was beautiful and gave off the comfortable feel we were looking for. Our only concern was the rugs. We all tripped over them a dozen times. The one by the bar is turned up on the edges and just for future clients those probably need to be fixed. Staff was very nice and helpful. Thanks so much and we would recommend this canine to anyone.

We love the Smokies and Gatlinburg. We have spent many of our vacations in the Smokies and have tried other rental companies but always come back to Mountain Laurel because they treat us like family and they always help with any problems.
