First time staying at Secret Hideaway, but it won't be our last. The chalet has a great layout and the decor is beautiful. Awesome view from the deck and inside the chalet. So nice sitting on the deck and watching the sunrise. The location was great - enjoyed being lower on the mountain but still feeling like we were in the mountains. We have been staying with Mountain Laurel Chalets for over 20 years and every stay with them is great. Can't wait for our next visit.

We loved our stay at Secret Hideaway! Very conveniently located to close to downtown so no worries about driving curvy hills (other than the steep driveway) each time you want to go out but you still get the feel of a cabin in the mountains. We enjoyed soaking in the roomy hot tub every day of our stay. We didn't really have a need for the loft since it was just the two of us but it is lovely and very roomy with games to play and the view is incredible. I did take my coffee up there a couple of times when it was too cool to sit on the deck. The Ober Mountain tram does travel right above the house and hot tub but it's super quiet and I rarely noticed. We didn't see any bears at the house but I that was probably just timing because we stopped in the office (very handy to this house) for something one morning for some extra supplies and she said I just missed one in the parking lot!Highly recommend this place as well as any Mountain Laurel location. This was our 4th time staying with them and we will always come back!

This property has everything you need and above! The place is cozy and charmy, despite of been really close to downtown Gatlinburg you get the cabin in the woods feeling. We also had a visitor on our last night, a black bear!! It was nice to see it in his natural habitat, but please be sure don't let any food in your car and place trash in the designated cage/container. For sure coming back!

wow...We have stayed with Mountain Laurel many times and had many great experiences but this cabin was a pleasant surprise. We have been enjoying the "camelot" for the last year but it was unavailable on this trip. We chose secret hideway and I am so glad that we did. The location is perfect. it is literally one minute from downtown. the place is large and very clean. The layout is perfect. I loved watching the clouds move through the mountains from the deck of this cabin. I wish our stay was longer. The most important thing, The beds! they are perfect. Soft and firm.I cant wait to stay here again.

This was our favorite place to stay in all the years we've been coming. It had absolutely everything that we needed and we couldn't ask for a better spot. While some might think it's too close to the low grounds, that actually worked in our favor. We spend pretty much all of our time in the park, and this just made it easier to walk down and venture around. We did of course take our vehicle to higher elevation hikes, but it was perfect for us. Everything was clean and in order. I think that it's safe to say, we'd rent this one again.

Once again Mtn Laurel Chalets did not disappoint. the whole experience was perfect. Secret Hideaway was amazing, from the easy access, although the driveway is steep, to the view and topnotch appliances. The home was clean and well maintained. We did have a problem with hot tub but with MLC's amazing customer service it was taken care of less than two hours. The man they sent was there in ten minutes, the hot tub guy showed up shortly after both men were a pleasure to talk to. Thank you, MLC for another wonderful visit to Tennessee and to all of your staff for their exceptional efforts to ensure we had a great vacation. I highly recommend Mtn Laurel Chalets and Secret Hideaway to anyone looking to stay in Gatlinburg. This is our third year in a row staying with MLC. Why go anywhere else?

Everything about our stay was absolutely amazing. The ladies at the office where we check in are always so sweet and helpful and the check in is always fast and easy! The cabin was spectacular!! Beautiful, clean, spacious, and lots of games for our kids to play. Was definitely one of our most favorite stays yet!! We even had a bear come up to our cabin so that was definitely exciting. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon for a week and loved it. We plan on coming back and renting it again. We did not see any bears at this cabin but there are plenty in Gatlinburg so keep and eye out. View was great, a lot of privacy. It’s very close to the strip also. Loved it!

We stayed at Secret Hideaway for four nights and it was perfect. Just a few minutes drive to downtown Gatlinburg and Smoky Mountain National Park. It was great to have a close and quiet place to come back to with a 10 month old. One tip - if you're visiting when the days are longer and with a little one, you may need to bring blackout curtains. The house has a beautiful view with lots of windows, but it makes it hard for the little ones to sleep until the sunsets!

Stayed here with another couple friend. This cabin is perfect for a group of friends, or 2 couples looking for a nice getaway. We enjoyed the hot tub, and the cabin had plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen was spacious and we enjoyed cooking breakfast together. In the afternoon, we would walk into town to enjoy what Gatlinburg has to offer. The only downside to this cabin is the steep hill it sits atop, but that is just what happens when you vacation in the mountains! Overall, extremely happy with our stay and will likely be returning soon.

Excellent vacation home. Close to downtown and don't need to traverse the windy mountain roads to get to it. This is our 5th time staying at Secret Hideaway and consider it our 'Home away from home'. We will definitely be back.
I would like you to consider putting a roof over the hot tub so out drinks don't get watered down when it rains. Other that this, the place is perfect.

The cabin was great. Well-appointed and extremely clean. Like very, very clean. We also loved how close it was to the main strip. There is a parking lot just down the hill, and it's easy to just park there and walk downtown Gatlinburg. Then you can very easily walk back to your car and avoid all the traffic for a 2 minute ride back to the cabin. We also loved the hot tub and game area. The only issue we had was the downstairs mattress is not very comfortable and probably needs to be replaced. The upstairs one was great, though.

From the moment you see the cabin when you arrive and you open the door for the first time, the cabin leaves you breathless, it is beautiful, super comfortable, you have everything you need. Me and my wife decided to try the mountains for a weekend getaway for our anniversary. This place was beautiful! The cabin was spacious and the decor was awesome. We have hectic schedules with my wife being a nurse through this pandemic and me traveling for work so this was perfect. Downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge was heavy due to a music festival and other travelers so we didn’t leave the cabin the second day. Definitely recharged my batteries. Lol
P.S. we didn’t see any bears on the property but they are there...

We throughly enjoyed our stay in The Secret Hideaway. The place is very clean, decorated beautifully, and is very comfortable. The location is perfect!! It’s super close to the Gatlinburg strip, but it also right next to the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. You honestly get the best of both worlds in this chatlet. The small road to the chalet is very steep and a little scary, but once you get used to it it’s no big deal. We weren’t lucky enough to see a bear at the cabin, like other guests have, but we did see a bear right down the road on our last day!! We will definitely be using this chalet again if/when we stay in Gatlinburg.

This house was perfect for our 2 person stay! The loft bed was better so we slept upstairs. Would be fine for a family or 2 couples provided everyone went to bed at the same time. All amenities worked great - washer/dryer, dishwasher, oven, grill, coffee pot, hot tub, tv, wifi! Close to town and very close to Sugarlands park entrance and hiking trails. Very steep driveway. Contactless check-in and key pad worked like a charm. Thanks for a great experience in Gatlinburg!

When comparing chalets, Secret Hideaway stood out. The modern/updated décor fit out style and with the cleanliness of the chalet made us feel right at home. The location was fantastic! We didn't have to add additional drive time to get to downtown Gatlinburg because we were literally right there. Driving down the strip can be hectic but there are two parking lots right at the beginning of the strip which is very accessible from the chalet. The chalet is around the corner from the entrance to the Park and the Sugarlands Riding Stable. We did venture out to the top of the mountain to see the scenic view from other chalet locations and I will say that we were just thrilled with Secret Hideaway views. Not too high (it was pretty nerve racking to drive up too high)but still beautiful views of the mountains and city views at night. Additional pro's: Gas grill, gas fireplace, games. Con's: No pool table.

Additionally, some might not like the following: Pretty large incline to get to chalet but you have to tackle it in order to get scenic views - so worth it, work shed behind the chalet - could be cleaned up better, & the Mountain Laurel chalet office / concrete at the bottom of the chalet. None of these things are a deterrent for our family.

Overall, the chalet was just the right size for our family of four, the right style & the perfect location. We will be back!

We appreciate your honesty about navigating the mountain roads up higher. Not everyone considers that if you want a view, you need to be up on the mountain, but Secret Hideaway is the exception. Glad to hear you mastered the hill to the cabin. The trick is to keep a steady pace and don't stop. We hope you will be back soon.

The Secret Hideaway was a perfect place for a last minute getaway. With check-in literally down the street, I had my keys and was at the house less then a minute later. The place still smelled new, with beautiful decor and new appliances. Perfect place for a romantic getaway or home base for a small family.

Great location and close to downtown. We walked into town several times, and saw a Bear buy a dumpster so moved quickly to the other side of the street! The home is lovely and I would stay there again... However, the swimming pool complexes are very difficult to get to And not well-maintained. I would’ve given more fives, but there was a Band-Aid, cleaning rag, and Some very dusty areas in the bedroom and loft.

Our guests love the convenience of town from Secret Hideaway and we are impressed that you were able to make the walk several time. Going down isn't bad at all, but walking back, all uphill, is not for the faint of heart. Kudos to you! Unfortunately, our bears have become accustomed to digging through trash receptables that are not properly latched and it is very sad when a bear comes a problem and has to be removed. We appreciate you giving our furry neighbors distance and realizing there is danger in approaching a bear. We hope to see you in the mountains again soon.

My husband and I chose this property as a last minute getaway to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and boy oh boy am I glad we did! The Secret Hideaway was perfect in every way. Secluded, clean, comfy, beautiful, I can go on and on. The location was great if you want to venture into town, close to everything!! Although the office was closed due to COVID-19, the interaction I had via phone was always friendly and professional. I highly recommend! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful house, close to Gatlinburg and the Park, very steep driveway (would not want to go up or down in snowy weather!). Since it was so close to Ski Mountain Rd it was a little noisy, but not bad. We did not see any bears at our chalet :-(, but did see some on the way to Cades Cove.

Thanks for the review and we are glad you enjoyed Secret Hideaway. Being close to downtown can be a little noisy when you are outside, but the convenience to the park entrance and the activities of downtown are a bonus. Fortunately for the office staff, most of the bear activitiy is further up on the mountain, but we are glad you got a glimpse of Yogi on the way to the Cove. We hope to see you again soon.

From the moment we saw the Chalet we knew it would be perfect. Every time we opened the front door we would get that special feeling and smell such a pleasant clean smell. Every inch of the chalet was beautiful. The modern cabin feeling was just perfect for a few night escape. We did not want to leave. If I had to pick only two favorites about the chalet, they would be the incredible view and every single area of the chalet. The distance was perfect to downtown and the park. Right before leaving, we experienced the best surprise, a bear came up on the deck and we could see he or she through the patio doors. A perfect experience! We hope to return for another visit soon!

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The house was spotless, well maintained and had everything we needed for a relaxing week in the Smokies. The house was exactly as it was described online. Close to town, close to the National Park. Beautiful views of the mountains from the upstairs picture windows. Also upstairs, the owners have thoughtfully provided games like checkers, Scrabble, Chinese hackers, etc. It’s a lovely chalet. We’ll be back.

This is great cabin if you want quick and easy access to the National Park. It is low on the mountain so you can spend you time with nature vs driving down Ski Mountain Rd.

Surprised our boys this past Christmas with a long weekend winter getaway trip to Gatlinburg. We love the mountains and were excited to book our stay with Mtn Laurel chalets again. Their staff are so kind and easy to deal with and the Secret Hideaway chalet is our favorite place to stay so far. My husband and I stayed here last fall and fell in love with this place. We absolutely love the look, the newness, cleanliness and decor of this chalet.
Overall we had a great stay.Hope to return again soon.

Went to Gatlinburg for a long getaway weekend for our 30th Anniversary and wanted to get a chalet in the mountains and found the Secret Hideaway. Fell in love with the pics of it online and we loved it even more in person.... every aspect of the design and decor of this newly built chalet was perfect for us....and the staff were so friendly. I have no complaints at all ! The rental was perfection and more than i expected it to be as well as the renters. It is super close to downtown gatlinburg, has a beautiful view, and is brand new inside and out. I am already planning another trip back in the same cabin :)

We rented the Secret Hideaway last minute after a long planned trip got cancelled. It was great - very modern yet rustic. Wrap around porch is great for the layout. Lots of windows facing east towards the mountains makes a great backdrop. Hot tub was perfect after hiking all day. Full moon coming up over the mountains was gorgeous. Very quiet and private as it is the last chalet on the hill.

Rented the chalet for 2 nights in a very busy July. Place was spotless, equipped, comfortable, and relaxing. It’s new since the fires and very close to town. I will def stay here again. Been renting from Mountain Laurel for years and they never disapppoint!!

Secret Hideaway is truly a gem in the mountains! It is super clean, adorably decorated, well stocked & in the perfect location! Each day after exploring the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge areas, we looked forward to coming back to the cabin to relax. We enjoyed sitting on the patio while the kids played the games upstairs. On our last day we even saw bears out the front door.

This is a great cabin to stay in. It was rebuilt after the fire so everything is new and updated. The furniture is comfortable and the appliances are all brand new and work perfectly.

The only complaint is the upper windows in the main bedroom let in the morning light so be prepared to wake up at sunrise each morning.

I would not stay anywhere else now apart from on Ski Mountain Road. We visited from the UK and do not know the area. I am so glad I chose Gatlinburg over Pigeon Forge and also this particular road as it is just on the edge of town. The cabin itself is gorgeous. Everything is brand new and clean. Our 2 and 5 year old also loved it. It’s a shame it’s right at the bottom of the mountain but that can’t be helped. It’s the first cabin by the office. We loved using the BBQ and hot tub. The only thing I would say is it needs a side gate as the very first morning, we had a big bear visit us (must have smelled our breakfast). Luckily my husband was out on the decking and saw it in the valley. It came all the way up the drive, sniffed around the car and bin then came right up on the decking and walked around to the back door!! As my husband had seen it coming, we had the children inside and locked the doors. We were face to face with it from the other side of the glass on the front door so got an amazing picture. If he hadn’t of seen it, it may have ended up in the cabin as moments before, the back door was wide open!! The kids also loved the smart TVs and the fact they got to watch their favourite You Tubers!

This is our 3rd time staying in the mountain laurel chalets and I have to say even though all of them been so nice and VERY clean, Secret Hideaway was the most beautiful inside! It felt like we were home. Very modern and updated and just so comfortable. We definitely would stay there again . The employees at Mountain Laurel are so friendly and helpful. Never a bad experience when we come. I have recommended mountain laurel to everyone that ask about Gatlinburg!!

Everything was absolutely stunning. Tucked in a mountainside but so close to everything.
My wife and I ran away for my 50th birthday, we had a severe illness in the family and had to stay close, this was the best decision ever.
We hung out on the deck, grilled out and enjoyed much needed down time.
